We are very lucky. A couple of weeks ago Grandpop came for a visit to help us with some things around the house. This is lucky for us because

a) Otis doesn' get to see his interstate grandparents much and,
b) we're not particularly handy.

Sure, between the two of us we can write a mean policy brief and acupuncture your twelve meridians, but when it comes to power tools we're pretty much hopeless.

So Grandpop arrived, and in a couple of days flat he put up shelves and picture hooks galore, installed a new outdoor toilet and trimmed our dining table so that it actually fits in our dining room.

Otis and Grandpop had a very fun time together, hanging out in the shed and talking about tools; Otis can now name most of the tools in the shed. Since he went home Otis asks about "Pa-Pop" all the time, and we hope he and Nanna will come to visit us all soon.

Otis is getting to be such a big boy now. His talking is developing so quickly, he adds new words every day. Most of them related to cars or trucks, like today's new word "engine".
