Hello!
Today we had our six week check up with Heather, our Maternal and Child Health Nurse. Otis has put on 800g since his last appointment 3 weeks ago, and now weighs 5690g (12lb 8) prompting Justin to rename him Bloatis. He's also grown 2 cm since our last appointment. Heather said his development is going really well.
He's definately starting to notice more of the world around him. He has a mat that he lays on which has toys that dangle down (it also plays baby Mozart!), and he's starting to focus on the toys and reach out for them.
Highlights of the last week or so include a walk to CERES for lunch with Chris, a visit to the office, afternoon tea with Vicki, lunch with Tom and a joint birthday dinner. Tom is currently installing a new show at Ocular Lab - the show is opens this Friday for 3 days - check it out if you're in the area.
Otis and Uncle Tom
I've also been spending a lot of time with Harry
Tomorrow we're off to our first Mothers Group meeting. The group is formed through our local Maternal and Child Health Centre, and meets every week for information sessions and socialising. I'm not really sure what to expect, but am kind of looking forward to being able to talk unashamedly about everything baby and not be worried that I'm boring everyone silly. I've been really conscious of still being able to talk about things other than Otis, but admit that the combination of tiredness and spending all of my time with a 6 week old baby doesn't make for scintillating conversation.
Happy Birthday Anna
Hi. Being in politics is like being a football coach. You have to be smart enough to understand the game, and dumb enough to think it's important. Help me! Could you help me find sites on the: Applying lace front wigs. I found only this - most comfortable lace front wigs. #footer p { Steve Vai - “For The Love Of God” THX ;-), Iye from Republic.
Otis, what a great blog! Your dad has just shown me another way that I can waste time at work - reading your blog - it's going straight to the top of the list of blogs that I already check out while I spend time in this hell hole (AKA Victoria University).
I especially like the last photo of you - the cutest yet - I was just telling Justin that it's amazing how you can start to see your personality emerging through the squidgy baby features.
I look forward to seeing you soon. And I'm really looking forward to the day that you start posting your own entries (No doubt not far off, given the Maternal Health Nurse's pronouncement on the pace of your development!)
love from Lou xx
